What is the Executive Board?
As a university of quality and distinctiveness, De Montfort University (DMU) has exciting and ambitious plans for the future.
The Executive Board plays a crucial role in developing and implementing these plans and is at the heart of everything DMU does.
The board provides leadership on vital issues, such as the recent creation of the Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities, and drives forward critical aspects of DMU’s strategic plan.
The role of Pro Vice-Chancellor/Dean is a new addition to the board and replaces the role of Dean. Dr Gerard Moran, previously a board member in his capacity as Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, has been appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor/Dean for the new Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities.
Two new members to the board are: Professor Mandy Ashton, Pro Vice-Chancellor/Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences; and Professor Andrew Collop, Pro Vice-Chancellor/Dean of the Faculty of Technology.
They join Professor David Wilson, who is Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law.
The Executive Board is chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dominic Shellard and members meet every two weeks.
