Career opportunitiesAs well as the opportunity to 'top-up' to the Business BA Honours degree, you can enhance your opportunities for promotion and/or facilitate a change of career. ProgrammeAt Level 1 you are introduced to key business concepts through modules about the business environment, business communications, accounting, understanding organisations and marketing. You will develop professional skills such as analysis, team working, problem solving, report writing, doing presentations, time management and project management. Level 2 continues to develop your knowledge of business and professional skills with modules such as Business Economics, Human Resource Management, Advertising and Promotions, Business Law, Operations Management, and Measuring the Performance of Business. If you wish to continue onto the BA Honours course at DMU, you take two extra modules in your third year of study enabling you to 'top up' with only one further year of study. Part-time study usually involves attendance on two evenings at either DMU or one of our Associate Colleges. At DMU, study takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evening and you will need to do some study in your own time.i> Teaching/assessmentIn small classes through lectures, seminars, group work and self-directed study, each designed to build your motivation and commitment, and your work experience. Assessment for each module will include coursework (such as presentations, essays and reports) and normally an examination or test.
