Please note that you must state the number of guests you wish to join you on the day.  Each graduate is limited to two guest tickets only. However, following the registration deadline if there are any available spaces students can purchase additional tickets on a first-come-first-served basis. We will contact you in due course if there is availability.

Ticket Collection

Available at Building 12 Reception (Ground Floor Entrance). You will receive communication once tickets are available to be collected.

Please Note:

You must have completed your programme and cleared all outstanding payments (including tuition and library fees) before the ceremony.

You can book now even if you have outstanding dues, but they must be cleared before the big day.

 

 

Guest Tickets - Refund Policy

The University will only offer a refund for guest tickets in the following circumstances:

  • Where the student is deemed ineligible to graduate due to pending academic results, including outstanding assessments or reassessments.
  • We are notified in writing at studentadvicecentre.dubai@dmu.ac.uk by 5pm on 23 September 2025 that you are no longer able to attend due to the above reason.

 

Refunds will not be available for:

  • Guest tickets no longer required if the graduand is unable to graduate due to outstanding tuition fee debts to the university, or due to illness of either the student or guest(s).
  • Students who require a visa to attend their ceremony and were not able to secure the visa in time to attend.

Graduation FAQs

  1. How do I contact the Graduation Team?

    Email the Student Advice Centre at studentadvicecentre.dubai@dmu.ac.uk.

  2. Where will the graduation be located, and when is it taking place?

    The ceremony will be held at the Taj Exotica Hotel, The Palm Jumeirah on 1 November 2025. There will be two ceremonies on the day as listed above. Please register by Friday 26 September at https://forms.office.com/e/beNhC9vDE3.

  3. How long is the ceremony?

    Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

  4. Are degree classifications read out?

    No. Only your name and award title will be announced when you cross the stage.

  5. When will I receive my certificate?

    Certificates will be available for collection on campus once your degree has been confirmed, and you will be informed when they are ready. If you attend the ceremony, you may collect your certificate on the day.

  6. I have a debt to the university – can I still attend?

    You can register for graduation if you have an outstanding balance, but all debts (tuition fees, library fines, outstanding course payments) must be cleared before the ceremony. Students with unpaid balances will not be permitted to graduate.

  7. What should I wear? What does the robe and hood look like?

    Graduands are required to wear full academic dress (gown, hood and mortarboard) supplied by Caps and Gowns. If you are not in full academic dress, you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony, but you may still collect your certificate.

  8. When should I collect my robe and have my photos taken on the day?

    Arrive early to collect your gown, take photographs and complete registration before the ceremony. Further details will be provided by Caps & Gowns after you register.

  9. Do you have a recommended itinerary for the day?

    Arrive 1–1.5 hours before the ceremony to allow time for registration, gown collection, photography and seating.

  10. What if I know I am going to be late for my ceremony?

    Please make every effort to arrive on time. The doors will be closed once the ceremony starts and late arrivals may not be admitted.

  11. I need more than two guest tickets, is that possible?

    Each graduand is entitled to two guest tickets. After the 23 September registration deadline, if there are remaining seats, additional tickets may be released for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis, and you will be contacted if any tickets become available.

  12. Will there be any tickets for sale on the day?

    All guest tickets must be purchased in advance.

  13. Can children attend?

    Yes, children are welcome, but each guest over the age of 12 must have a paid ticket. Guest tickets are priced at AED 300 per person and will be confirmed once payment has been received by the Finance Team. Payments can be made by visiting the finance office or using theNetwork International QR.. Once payment is complete, send a copy or screenshot of your receipt to finance.dubai@dmu.ac.uk. All guests, including children, must remain seated with their accompanying adult.

  14. I have special access requirements for myself or a guest – how do I let you know?

    Email studentadvicecentre.dubai@dmu.ac.uk as early as possible.

  15. Will my guests sit together?

    Yes. Guest seating is allocated to keep parties seated together wherever possible. Student seating is arranged separately.

  16. Can I bring my own food and drink into the hotel?

    No. Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside the venue. Food and refreshments will be provided for all graduates and guests after the ceremony.

  17. I can’t attend in November 2025; can I defer to another date?

    If you are unable to attend the Dubai ceremony, you may be able to attend a graduation ceremony at De Montfort University Leicester instead. For exceptional circumstances, contact the Student Advice Centre.

  18. My friend is graduating in a different ceremony to me – can I move my ceremony?

    No. Students must attend the ceremony allocated to their programme and cannot switch ceremonies.

  19. Where can I park?

    Valet parking will be available at the Taj Exotica Hotel, The Palm Jumeirah on a first-come, first-served basis. Paid public parking is also available on the same road as the hotel.
