Experience East London’s street art

East London is one of the world’s most recognised centres for street art, and it’s free to explore. From Brick Lane to the surrounding side streets, you’ll see murals, installations and creative statements that change regularly and offer inspiration whenever you need it.

Visit Old Spitalfields Market

A short walk from DMU London, Old Spitalfields Market is full of culture, character and creativity. Even if you’re not shopping, wandering through the market is a great way to experience London’s independent makers, designers and food culture. It’s an ideal place to meet friends, take photos or enjoy the atmosphere.

Walk the Sculpture in the City trail

London’s financial district hosts a free, outdoor sculpture trail featuring international artists. It’s a striking blend of modern art and architecture, and it’s close enough for an easy afternoon visit. This is a rewarding way to explore the city and experience large-scale public art at your own pace.

Find green spaces to recharge

London offers plenty of places to pause and unwind. Victoria Park one of the city’s most iconic green spaces is within walking distance or a short bus ride away. Whether you're revising, meeting friends or taking a break, these spaces support your wellbeing and help you maintain balance.

Take a self-guided walking tour

Whitechapel, Brick Lane and the surrounding areas are rich in history and culture. Self-guided walking routes help you get to know your community, understand the area’s heritage and discover places you might otherwise miss. It’s a simple, free way to enjoy London on your own terms.

Step inside the Barbican Conservatory

The Barbican Conservatory is one of London’s hidden gems. Entry is free (booking required), and the space is filled with hundreds of plant species in a peaceful, light-filled environment. It’s an inspiring backdrop for study, reflection or creative thinking.
