Smart student travel in London
Contactless payments
Tap in with your bank card or mobile device on any bus, tube or train. It’s one of the quickest and most affordable ways for students to travel in London.
Oyster cards
Although our students don’t qualify for student Oyster cards, regular commuters can still save money by using an Oyster card. Railcards (such as the 16-25 or 26-30 Railcard) can be added to an Oyster card to reduce pay-as-you-go fares – something that contactless payment don’t usually support.
Cycle hire, e-bikes and e-scooters
You’ll find plenty of cycle hubs and electric bike/scooter rental points around The Amp, giving you a flexible, eco-friendly way to move around the city. When using e-bikes or e-scooters, please ride responsibly. Wear protective equipment, especially a helmet and follow local traffic laws – use cycle lanes where available and never ride on pavements.
