Your journey to Dubai starts here

If you're planning to study at De Montfort University (DMU) Dubai from outside the UAE, our team is here to help make the visa process as straightforward as possible.

Eligible international students can apply for a UAE Student Residence Visa sponsored by DMU Dubai, allowing you to live and study in Dubai while completing your programme.

From preparing your documents to completing the visa process, our team will guide you through the steps you need to take.

Your visa, made simple

Once you have accepted your offer and completed the required admissions and financial procedures, our team can begin processing your student visa application.

The standard visa process typically takes 10–15 working days, excluding any additional time required for security checks by the UAE government. An express service is also available, subject to an additional fee.

We recommend starting your visa process as early as possible to help ensure everything is in place before you travel and begin your studies.

Who needs a student visa?

International students who are not UAE or GCC nationals will generally require a valid UAE Student Residence Visa to study in Dubai.

If you are already living in the UAE, our team can advise you on the appropriate process, including whether you need to change your visa status or leave and re-enter the UAE.

GCC nationals do not require a UAE Student Residence Visa.

What you need to provide

To begin your student visa application, you will need to provide the required documentation, which may include:

Your passport should have at least six months' validity when you apply for your student visa.

Our team will confirm the latest requirements and guide you through the documentation needed for your application.

Coming to Dubai from overseas?

If you're travelling to Dubai to begin your studies, we recommend starting the visa process around 45 days before your planned travel date.

Once your Student Entry Permit has been issued, you can make your travel arrangements and prepare for your arrival in Dubai.

If you are already in the UAE, additional requirements may apply depending on your current visa status. Our team can advise you on the available options.
