Meet Abdulrahman: The 15-Year-Old Business Student on Track to Become One of the UAE’s Youngest Graduates
At just 15 years old, Abdulrahman bin Ahmed is already challenging expectations of what is possible in education, entrepreneurship and personal development. Now studying at De Montfort University Dubai, he is on track to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Business at just 16 years old, Insha Allah.
Some students begin university after years of following a traditional academic pathway. Others create their own route.
For Abdulrahman bin Ahmed, his journey to higher education has been anything but conventional.
Born in the UAE and a Canadian citizen, Abdulrahman has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to learning from a young age. After completing Year 8 at the International School of Creative Science in Dubai, he continued his education through homeschooling before privately completing his IGCSE through the British Council.
His academic journey continued with a Level 4 and an Extended Level 5 Diploma in Business Management from Explore Educational Institute and Atlas Educational Institute, both KHDA-approved institutions in Dubai. These qualifications gave him the equivalent of the first two years of a university degree and opened the door to an accelerated route into higher education.
From Diploma to University at 15
At just 15, Abdulrahman received direct admission into the final year of a Bachelor’s degree programme in Business. Having received multiple offers, including scholarship opportunities from universities across the UAE, the wider region and the UK, he carefully considered his options before choosing De Montfort University Dubai.
Today, he is pursuing his final year of study and is on course to graduate at just 16 years old, Insha Allah.
For Abdulrahman, however, his university journey is about more than achieving an impressive milestone.
It is about building the knowledge, confidence and experience needed to shape his future.
“Whatever I have achieved so far, I owe it first to God and then to my parents, who sacrificed so much and believed in me at every step. They taught me that I could aim high as long as I stayed grounded and worked hard.”
A Passion for Business and Entrepreneurship
Abdulrahman’s interest in business began well before he entered university.
Shortly after the COVID-19 lockdown, he launched his own online digital marketing business. While his entrepreneurial journey began early, his parents encouraged him to prioritise his education and build a strong academic foundation first. Abdulrahman chose to pause the venture and dedicate himself to his studies.
His entrepreneurial ambitions, however, have remained a central part of his long-term vision.
Alongside his Business degree at DMU Dubai, Abdulrahman is pursuing a Diploma in Financial Markets at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). He has also secured an internship with a finance and securities firm following graduation, giving him an opportunity to gain valuable industry experience as he works towards his goal of becoming an entrepreneur and global business leader.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Abdulrahman’s achievements extend well beyond his academic studies.
He holds a Diploma in Health and Fitness from Fab Academy, Fabulous Body Inc., California, as well as a KHDA-approved Diploma in Digital Marketing from Immersive Business Training. He has also earned a black belt in Taekwondo from Kukkiwon.
His interests extend into sport too. In 2023, he competed in the 5th Kafou Championship in Dubai, winning gold medals in four different swimming categories.
And when he is not studying, Abdulrahman enjoys exploring the world. He has already travelled to 25 countries as a backpacker and has set himself an ambitious goal: to visit 100 countries before the age of 18.
The Importance of Family
Behind Abdulrahman’s achievements is a strong family foundation.
He credits much of his success to the support, guidance and sacrifices of his parents, Ahmed Sattar and Khizran Ahmed. His father, a real estate developer, has provided him with practical insights into business and entrepreneurship, while his mother, a homemaker and food blogger, has encouraged his creativity, discipline and personal development.
His mother describes him as a loving, astute and dedicated young person who approaches everything he does with commitment.

Abdulrahman also shares a close bond with his siblings, Abdullah and Haya, growing up in a family environment centred around encouragement, faith and mutual support.
Redefining What’s Possible
Abdulrahman’s journey is a reminder that there is no single path to success.
From completing his qualifications through an alternative educational route to entering university at 15, developing an interest in entrepreneurship, competing in sport and exploring the world, his story reflects a willingness to learn, adapt and pursue ambitious goals.
As he continues his studies at De Montfort University Dubai, Abdulrahman is not simply working towards becoming one of the UAE’s youngest university graduates. He is building the foundations for a future shaped by business, finance, entrepreneurship and global ambition.
His journey demonstrates what can happen when curiosity is matched with discipline, ambition is supported by education, and young people are given the opportunity to pursue their potential.
