Fashion Management (Level 6 Top Up) BA (Hons) Module Details
This module establishes new innovations in global retailing, including the use of data, visual merchandising, promotional techniques and new directions in consumer demand. The impact of external events on retailing will also be considered.
Fashion Buying Management
This module involves an in-depth review of how the global buying works and the stages involved in product creation. This is a complex process involving many stages with one of the most intricate critical paths in industry. This module explores the strategic and trading elements of a buying office. It also includes careers support, CAD development and technical aspects.
This modules enables you to understand how sustainable product innovation and new designs are pivotal to the success of fashion businesses. You will gain an understanding of intellectual property law and the importance of design protection. There is a strong entrepreneurial element to the module, whereby you will be taught about product development, business planning and financial forecasting. You will then carry out a simulated business task, whereby you will design and develop an original and innovative product idea, and write a full business plan in order to secure funding for your idea.
This module is the culmination of your studies to date and will develop your research skills and experience. The project will take the form of a 6000-8000 word dissertation based on original research in an area of your choice from; trend, fashion buying, fashion business or fashion marketing.
