Neurocognitive and Related Disorders in the Older Person

This module will focus on the knowledge and practices relevant to the older person with neurological and neurocognitive disorders. Students will have the opportunity to explore areas such as dementia, delirium, depression, learning disabilities and other conditions. The students will learn problem solving skills, communication strategies, and develop a deeper awareness of how using a collaborative and analytical approach to care can better support this client group and improve patient outcomes.

Campus: Taught sessions will be delivered in venues to be arranged at the University City campus and University Hospitals of Leicester

Entry Criteria

  • Effective registration with the NMC / HPC or other relevant professional body. ESSENTIAL
  • Undertaken successful level 4/5 academic study. ESSENTIAL
  • Currently be employed in practice and have the support of their manager in undertaking the module. ESSENTIAL
