Research Designs in Health

This is a Master’s Level module designed to consolidate and/or develop basic knowledge in research methods. It is designed to give a thorough grounding in both the technical processes and social context of research, from study design, through collection and presentation of data, to data analysis and the writing up of research results. It allows students to develop skills in writing research proposals.

Issues are primarily illustrated through examples from social science applied to the field of health, and students are encouraged to share and draw upon inter-professional experiences of research as part of the learning process.

  • Ability to study at Masters level (minimum of 2.2 first degree OR evidence of degree level study) and evidence of recent study.

The module forms part of the Master’s in Research (Applied Health Studies).
