Module description

The module provides an opportunity for students to undertake an independent study in an area of special interest within the broad area of enterprise. It allows the student to research a contentious issue in our UK economy and consider creative and viable solutions . These are then developed in terms enterprising aims, objectives and outcomes, and the report should show good innovative business planning techniques and strategies.

The ensuing piece of work should emulate and be of the calibre expected by an external advisor to higher authorities such as Government.

Contact hours per student per year

  • Lectures: 3 hours
  • Other: 1 to 1 meetings throughout the year with an allocated supervisor


  • Literature review: 20%
  • Dissertation: 80%
