Module description
This module provides an introduction to econometric methods for both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The focus of the module will be twofold: i. The understanding of a variety of fundamental econometric methods for analysing economic data with diverse structures (both quantitative and qualitative) ii. The applications of these econometric methods to estimate empirical models This module will begin by a review of key statistical concepts and introducing different types of variable, the corresponding measures of location, spread, variation, distribution, and the diverse structures of economics data. These will provide the building blocks for understanding the following association analysis, contingency table analysis as well as the fundamental regression analysis.
