Module description
This introductory module is designed to develop interest, knowledge and appreciation of current economic issues and enable analysis and measurment of applied economic issues. This promotes understanding of economic theories and policy formulation against the background of contemporary economic events. There will be an international flavour to reflect the increased globalisation of the economy drawing mainly upon issues in a UK context. Thus, British Government economic policies will be examined and effects on policies of key UK businesses and consumers. This requires brief examination of political and economic ideologies of main political parties as their policy is shaped by such beliefs.
