Practice Perspectives on Sports Law

Module description

This module, which will run from September to April, is supported by a series of lectures to be held in London venues (London Lectures) and given by leading sports law practitioners.

The London Lectures comprise of four principal subject areas:

Section A - Sports Governance

Section B - Commercialisation of Sport

Section C - Integrity in Sport

Section D - Issues for Individual Athletes

A detailed Lecture Programme is supplied at the commencement of the course

All sessions will be delivered by leading practitioners including members of the Board of Directors of BASL. There will also be the opportunity for informal social networking.

Attendance Registers will be maintained and attendance records monitored.

The provisional lecture programme identified bove is for the purposes of illustration only. De Montfort University reserves the right to make changes to the specific topics presented an/or to substitute alternate speakers or venues.

Assessments

  • Essay: 100%

Additional costs: Students are required to attend not less than 50% of the London Lectures and incur travel/accommodation costs.
