Module description

The module examines the law relating to noise pollution. It examines a range of issues which include: the characteristics of noise as a pollutant; the law of nuisance (public and private) as applied to noise; the interrelationship between tortious liability and statutory controls; Part III of the Control of Pollution Act 1974; statutory nuisance proceedings under the Environmental Protection Act 1990; constriction site noise; noise abatement zones; and miscellaneous statutory controls.
