St Martins House

Just a 10-minute walk from campus and 2 minutes from the city centre, St Martins House, privately managed by Unite Students, is close to a variety of convenience stores and leisure facilities.

The flats have four, five or six bedrooms, each with en suite facilities. There are shared kitchens featuring a breakfast bar and stools, as well as a carpeted area with a sofa and curtains. The kitchen has a cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave. Each flat also has a vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush, mop and bucket, iron and ironing board and bin.

Up to 70Mb internet broadband connection is included in rent costs, while TV connection points are available in bedrooms and kitchens (a co-axial cable is required).

The hall features CCTV, a secure door entry system and 24-hour roaming security, bicycle storage and coinless laundry facilities (£3.50 per wash, £1.70 per dry).

St Martins House features a student common area, including table football, free document printing facilities and TV.

Limited car parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A 43-week parking space costs £645.

Contract lengths

A contract at St Martins House lasts for 43 weeks and one day, running from Friday 20 September 2019 to Friday 17 July 2020.

International students can start a week earlier (additional costs apply).

Rent and costs

Classic en suite: £125 per week, inclusive of bills. Total: £5,392.87

N.B. A guarantor is required. They can be either UK or international, but must be over the age of 21 and in full-time employment. Without a guarantor you must pay for the full year’s rent when making the booking.

Rent instalments

Classic en-suite (43 week and one day contract), four instalments:

  • 6 September 2019: £539.29            
  • 11 October 2019: £1,617.86  
  • 15 January 2020: £2,157.15 
  • 15 April 2020: £1,078.57

Students with an international home address will need to pay in two equal instalments on 6 September 2019 and 15 January 2020

Additional rent considerations

The first instalment is due before you arrive. You cannot use your student loan to pay, as you won’t receive it until after you have enrolled on your course.

You can pay by direct debit, debit card or credit card (there is a two per cent surcharge on credit card transactions). Bank transfers will be accepted if you don’t have any other way of paying.
