Commuting students accommodation offer

At DMU, a significant proportion of our students commute to university on a daily basis to attend lectures or extra-curricular activities.

We recognise that students might wish to stay over in Leicester to participate in social activities and to undertake academic discussions with their peers. Students might also wish to spend time at the university to avoid the rush-hour traffic or due to timetabling.

After discussions with our student body, we have put in place a package where students will be able to stay on campus in Bede Hall, which is owned and managed by DMU.

Accommodation in Bede Hall is provided for commuting students on the following basis.

  1. Rooms are provided on sole occupancy bedrooms with shared showers, toilets and kitchens
  2. There is a minimum of a two-night stay and a maximum of five nights.
  3. Cost £25 per night, payable upon booking (via online payment).
  4. Bedding is provided.
  5. Bookings are made via the accommodation team by emailing: accommodation@dmu.ac.uk to request login details.
  6. Students will also need to agree to the university’s standard Terms and Conditions regarding to living in Halls of Residences.
  7. Rooms are subject to availability and are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
