Electric Vehicles: Revolution or Red Herring? – You Decide...

Come to our Electric Vehicle Demo Day at Mallory Park and find out for yourself whether we are on the brink of a completely new era of transport or whether it’s just a lot of fuss about nothing.  

This unique event is aimed at anyone who is curious to find out more about Electric Vehicles (EVs).  It features owners of EVs who can offer unrivalled insight into what it is like to use them on a day-to-day basis.  Forget the hype – these people will share their real-world experience of EVs with you and give an honest assessment of them, ‘warts and all’!

The aim of the day is to challenge the preconceptions of EVs and offer the chance to experience them and assess their performance and practicality for yourself.  It features drivers, fleet operators, researchers, suppliers and even self-builders of EVs.

The day will be informal, informative and fun, with EV owners giving talks about their vehicles, answering questions, providing demonstrations and, in some cases, offering rides or driving experiences.  Media teams will be there to capture attendee views on electric vehicles as they arrive and throughout the day, identifying any changes in their perception of electric cars. 

There may be the opportunity to test drive one or more of the vehicles (at the owner’s discretion). To be eligible, the test-driver must have a valid driver's license with a minimum of one year’s driving experience. A waiver will need to be signed at the event. 

Rides as a passenger may also be offered by certain vehicle exhibitors (again, at the owner’s discretion).

This is a great opportunity to expand your understanding of electric vehicles and the future of transport.

Lunch and refreshments will be available to purchase.

Travel: We have organised coach travel to the venue from three locations. Departures are available from De Montford University, Coventry University and Loughborough University. Coaches will leave at 9am and returning at 5pm.
