Social housing

There is a long standing history of housing research at De Montfort University. The current focus in the Leicester Castle Business School is on social housing research.

Current and recent projects include an evaluation of asset based community development in Leeds, and a back-to-work housing project called ‘Freedom to Work’ in Surrey.

Housing Research at the Leicester Castle Business School was in the news recently as a result of its work with civic and charitable organisations involved in the ‘European End Street Homelessness’ campaign in Leicester in November 2017.

Our housing research specialises in work with marginalised communities, particularly Roma, Gypsies and Travellers and their accommodation needs. We use largely qualitative methods and are committed to co-production approaches working with communities.
