History research group

Located in the School of Humanities, the History Research Group at De Montfort University is renowned for its internationally distinguished research into ethnic/immigration history, the modern history of South-Eastern Europe and British rural history. The team is also linked to the International Centre for Sport History and Culture, the world-leading research group with regards to British and international sport history.

The History research team currently supervise a number of PhD students and are available for new supervisions. Please contact the team member most relevant to your research interests directly (using their personal email address listed in staff web pages) in the first instance. History Research Group staff also teach on the BA History and MA History degrees.


The History team (in conjunction with the International Centre for Sports History and Culture) run History research seminars on a regular basis on Wednesday afternoons from 4.30pm in the Clephan Building.
