Study Health and Life Sciences at DMU
De Montfort University (DMU) has a reputation for providing high quality professional education and training for a wide range of healthcare careers.
A number of our courses offer professional accreditations, direct links with industry and input from registered practitioners.
Our School of Pharmacy is one of the UK’s longest established pharmacy schools, with more than 100 years of teaching experience.
All of our undergraduate science courses are three years in duration (or four if an optional placement year is offered) and start in September, with the exception of the MPharm which is four years, and Nursing with Registration (Adult) which has both a January and September intake.
Our postgraduate Health and Life Science courses are one year in duration and start in September.
A number of our undergraduate courses offer you the opportunity to do a year-long placement in industry.
If you are on a tier 4 visa and are approved to undertake a one year work placement, you will be granted a longer visa that includes the work placement.
However if you do not subsequently undertake a placement, we will curtail your visa which may have implications for any further Tier 4 visa applications. Any time added for work placements will contribute towards your time limit for studying in the UK.
Through #DMUworks, the University's employability initiative, all students have the opportunity to undertake placements, internships or volunteering, as well as careers support in order to get you work-ready before you graduate.
