Work placements
All of our undergraduate Business degrees offer the opportunity to undertake a one year work placement as part of your course allowing you to gain professional work experience.
If you are on a Tier 4 visa and are approved to undertake a one year work placement, you will be granted a longer visa that includes the work placement.
However if you so not subsequently undertake a placement, we will curtail your visa which may have implications for any further Tier 4 visa applications. Any time added for work placements will contribute towards your time limit for studying in the UK.
Several of our postgraduate Business courses provide the opportunity to gain work experience through the completion of a Business Research Project or Executive Company Project, and #DMUworks, the University's employability initiative, offers all students the opportunit to gain employability skills and undertake work placements, internships or volunteering.
Professional accreditations
We have been granted professional recognition and accreditation from many leading professional bodies such as:
- The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- The Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA)
- The Association of International Accountants (AIA)
- The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
- The Chartered Management Institute (CMI)
- CFA Society of the UK (CFA UK)
- The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM)
Through some of our accreditations, you can gain significant exemptions from professional qualifications, allowing you to complete them at a faster pace (subject to course and module choice). Professional qualifications are often sought after by graduate employers due to the industry specific skills you will acquire.
Our BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree offers up to six exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the maximum number available.
