A series of cultural events to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month

See events

This year will see the sixth annual #DMUpride celebrations held at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU), with a jam-packed month of events taking place on campus and across the city to celebrate LGBTQ+ history month.

This year’s highlights include Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Vinegar Strokes who will be performing live at the Students’ Union, Sunday Times bestselling author and activist Jack Monroe and BBC’s TV and radio personality Richie Anderson.

Students and staff will also have the chance to get involved in free sport sessions with DMUactive, and head along to uplifting stories on stage and screen courtesy of our partners at Curve theatre and Phoenix Cinema.

At DMU we find strength in a community that prides itself on tolerance and acceptance, where everyone is free to be themselves and is encouraged to reach their full potential. We hope you enjoy this vibrant programme of events and enjoy the celebrations.
