Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)
All DMU undergraduate students and taught postgraduate students receive the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) when they graduate. All enrolled undergraduates are issued with a draft (interim) copy of their HEAR during their first term; this interim copy is updated regularly.
What is the HEAR?
When you graduate, as well as being issued with a degree certificate, you will be given access to your HEAR. This electronic document is our official academic transcript of your module results, alongside any recognised extra achievements such as internships, volunteering or student representative roles.
What is it for?
The HEAR is an excellent way to showcase your employability as it captures not only your individual modules, but any recognised extra activities you've done at DMU. This could give you the chance to stand out from the crowd when employers are looking at potential graduate employees.
What activities are recognised?
If you have volunteered with the DSU, #DMUlocal or #DMUglobal, undertaken a Frontrunners role, or found work through Unitemps, as long as you've worked the required number of hours, it will appear.
The HEAR will also include any official positions you've held in clubs and societies, and prizes or awards you've received while at DMU.
To help you, we have created a recognised list of activities. If you feel an activity should be added to the HEAR, then please contact us at the email address below and we will investigate.
You can view a sample of the HEAR report here.
To access your HEAR:
- Eligible students will get an email saying that a new document is available from De Montfort University in Digitary
- Go to core.digitary.net
- Click on the Education Provider Login (the green building button)
- Under ‘Institution’, enter De Montfort University and click Continue
- Enter your p-number and your usual single sign-on password
- You can share your HEAR with prospective employers and other institutions. See ‘Sharing my documents’ in the Digitary FAQ.
Please note: if you access an interim HEAR (which is issued some time before your final report), then the assessment results displayed remain unratified until the appropriate Programme Assessment Board has met and, as such, may be subject to change up until this point. When a module is still in progress, or during the time we are working on your assessment results, some components may not be shown. Please refer to university announcements for when results will be officially confirmed and released.
If you have any questions, please email HEAR@dmu.ac.uk.
