It’s Leicester Pride on Saturday 1 September and we’re inviting everyone to come along and join in the parade.
We’re proud to be partnering with Leicester Pride again this year and helping to promote equality and diversity by supporting one of the city’s real cultural highlights.
Last year, the colourful procession saw around 3,000 LGBTQ people, friends and allies march through the city centre and up to Victoria Park for the main Pride event, creating a great carnival atmosphere along the way.
Professor Julie Fish, co-chair of the LGBTQ and Allies Staff Network Group, will be carrying the flag for DMU, underscoring our commitment to equality, inclusion and the freedom to be yourself. Show your support by joining DMU’s parade and taking part in this fabulous event.
We’ll be meeting at the Curve theatre, Orton Square at 11.30am before setting off at noon to join the main procession – look for the DMU banner, and don’t forget your whistles!
The festival at Victoria Park is free and lots of fun for all the family. There’ll be live music, dance acts, cabaret, DJs, food and drink, market stalls, fairground rides and more.
