Last month, students and staff were joined by Keir Starmer, Labour MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union at a #BeTheChange event to discuss the implications of Brexit. Our Keep Universities for the Many campaign continues to spotlight the various issues affecting the future of Higher Education. Within the arena of UK politics there’s also lots more going on currently that has an impact on all of us including the ongoing diplomatic row with Russia, accusations of anti-Semitism in the Labour Party and the large scale abuse of personal data.
To discuss these issues and other topical subjects, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dominic Shellard will be chairing a student-led #BeTheChange panel event on UK Politics on Tuesday 10 April from 1-2pm in the Crown Court room at Leicester Castle Business School.
For this Question Time-style debate, Professor Shellard will be joined by DMU student representatives from the main UK political parties and DMU academics.
The event is open to all students and staff and lunch will be served from 12.30pm.
