To further complement its current rewards and benefits package, DMU is now offering salaried staff the opportunity to join a scheme which offers them protection against costs they may incur if their car is damaged while parked, or commuting to and from, DMU.
Lifestyle is a portal that enables DMU employees to access (free of charge) a wide range of discounts or retail cards. There are approximately 9000 discounts at any one time and range from money of shopping vouchers to reloadable store cards, to travel and attraction discounts (and much more). You can join (at your own expense) the British Universities Private Medical Insurance Plan. Pre-existing medical conditions will be excluded from benefit for the first two years (unless you’ve been with us for less than 30 days).
Cholesterol tests, blood pressure, resting pulse rate, fat analysis/body mass index, lung function tests, allergy and dermatitis checks, audiometry and general health discussions are all available, free of charge, from our Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing Department.

Our fantastic leisure centre offers 6 and 12 month memberships from £60 to £240. You can pay for membership via the salary deduction scheme.
DMU staff can borrow from the library to support teaching and research. Visiting and affiliated staff may be granted borrower status free of charge subject to a confirmation letter from the relevant Head of Department or Dean of Faculty.

The Staff Social Committee (SCC) is run by a group of staff from across the university, to enhance the social environment for staff at DMU and allow them to get involved in a range of activities and events with colleagues.
