All staff leaving DMU can access the Retirement Policy and Premature Retirement Policy (for lecturers in higher eduaction).
Please find above a table which details the contractual notice periods for the different roles/ grades.
The University does not operate a compulsory retirement age. The retirement policy details the options available to staff when considering if retirement is right for them.
It is recognised that employees are likely to base their retirement decisions on their eligibility for a pension under the relevant occupational pension scheme. The rules for each scheme are different and further information are contained in the appendices to this policy.
The policy above contains the details of process for premature retirement of lecturers is Higher Education, which differs from the procedures relating to general retirement which are contained in the Retirement Policy. Premature retirement can be agreed in certain circumstances, details of which are contained within the policy.
