Agency Worker Regulations
From 1 October 2011, the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) came into force. The AWR introduce certain rights and entitlements for agency workers which entitles them to enjoy the same basic employment terms and conditions as employees who are recruited directly to work for DMU. As a result there have been some changes to the current process to ensure that we are compliant. Details of these are in the agency worker guidelines below.
Unitemps must be used when seeking agency staff.
Unitemps, a joint franchise with University of Leicester, aimed at providing temporary employment opportunities. Unitemps is our source for temporary staff for the university, we wish to maximise the opportunities for our students to gain employment experience (where appropriate). Though Unitemps is primarily aimed at students (undergraduate and post graduate), they are also able to provide staff who can work longer hours (up to full time) and/or who may have different skills. Where it is not possible to fill a vacancy with Unitemps staff, they will liaise with the relevant agency on your behalf.
When seeking agency staff you are asked to submit your authorised forms to email@example.com or the Unitemps office in the Student Gateway (ground floor, Gateway House).
