Muslim Prayer Room
Both students and staff at De Montfort University benefit from a dedicated Muslim Prayer Room and ablution facilities, and support from our Imam and Muslim Chaplain. The Prayer Room has a maximum capacity of 400 people; however, it is currently operating with a maximum capacity of 200 people, in line with health and safety guidance.

Imam Mohammed Laher is the Muslim Chaplain at De Montfort University. As a fully qualified and trained Imam, he leads congregational prayers and provides advice and guidance on matters relating to faith and religion, as well as spiritual and pastoral care to students and staff in the University.
Imam Mohammed works with colleagues in Student and Academic Services to support and enhance the student experience, and works with De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) affiliated Societies.

How to find us
The Prayer Room is on the lower-ground floor of the Portland Building. The entrance to the Prayer Room is at the rear entrance of Portland Building, accessed via Newarke Close through the car park.
