International student registration

All new International students need to attend an International Registration event before being allowed to commence your course of study. We will be based in a central campus location throughout registration to welcome and help you complete all the necessary steps prior to starting your course.

What should I have done before attending the event?

What to expect at the event

The event will be split into four “zones”. You can find out more about each zone below. Our welcome team and student ambassadors will be on hand to direct you smoothly through the process. It is anticipated that the process will take around 20 minutes per students but please do expect some queues in and around the event during this period.

Zone 1 -Finance Team - Finance will check and confirm that you have paid 50% before you are able to register. Please bring proof of your payment with you or a debit/credit card to make payment on the day

Zone 2 Online Registration Support – Available throughout the registration period for any student who is encountering difficulties with the process.

Zone 3 -Passport Visa Scanning:  You must have your visa and passport checked, before you can register on your course. If you have chosen DMU as your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) collection location this will also be available to collect at your event. More info here.

Zone 4 -Student ID Card Collection: All students should receive a Student ID card; this card includes your unique DMU ID number that will start with a P and will have seven digits e.g.: P1234567 this ID card allows you access to university facilities including buildings, learning resources and computing equipment. If your ID card wasn’t ready in time for Registration you will have been given a temporary ID card which is valid until the end of October. When your ID card is ready for collection, we will email you via your DMU email address with details of where and when to collect your ID card.
