Recreational Sport

If competitive sport isn’t your thing, there are plenty of fun recreational sport and fitness opportunities that students can get involved with whilst studying at DMU. Recreational sport is a fantastic way to look after your wellbeing, help you to stay healthy, provides an opportunity to meet new people or try a new activity. There really is something for all students!

Here at DMU there are a variety of ways for students to get involved in recreational sport and fitness opportunities. Take a look at what DMUsport all has to offer below:

DMUactive – free daily sport and fitness sessions

Active Leagues – intra mural leagues

Active Events – one off fun events

DMUactive Volunteering Academy – volunteering opportunities

Lockdown update

Since the last DMUsport update in December 2020, England has entered into a National lockdown with the advice to Stay at Home.

As a result, DMUactive are unable to deliver face-to-face sport activity until at least mid-February. There is no certain date when restrictions will be lifted, and all sport and leisure indoor and outdoor facilities are closed.

In the meantime, we want to continue to help the DMU community to stay active and look after their wellbeing so have developed a virtual offer that is open to all DMU staff and students. You can take a look at what is on offer on our DMUactive page.

If you have any questions regarding this please email DMUactive@dmu.ac.uk.
