DMU’s biggest business event, Connect, was held for the first time in two years on Thursday 24 February, marking the return to physical start-up events.
The event saw students, graduates, staff and members of the local business community come together to hear from guest speakers including Thomas Wylam, Enterprise Placement Year student, Simon Jenner, Director of BID Leicester and Martin Hageman, a representative of The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity who are partners for the Connect event series.

Simon Baines, from DMU’s Student and Graduate Enterprise Team, said: ‘This event could not have gone better, the audience were visibly excited to be together physically in one room, and it was great that we had so many watching live online as well.
‘All of our speakers were fantastic. The networking session which followed the guest speakers was absolutely buzzing, and it was just brilliant to see so many people interested in entrepreneurship connect on campus in this way.’
This year’s Pitch2Win competition and DMU Enterprise & Entrepreneurship Awards were also introduced during the event.
You can watch the event over on the DMU LinkedIn page.
The next Connect event will take place on Thursday 24 March in the Manhattan 34 bar.
