Amy Winehouse: A Celebration of Her Life and Music with The National Youth Jazz Orchestra


To celebrate the life and music of the prodigious talent that was Amy Winehouse, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) is excited to announce a nationwide concert series to mark the 10th anniversary of her passing.

The concert series will celebrate Amy’s legacy, reimagining hits and revisiting early works she sang with the 24-piece orchestra as a promising 16-year-old singer, back in 2000.

As part of the series, and in partnership with Leicester Jazz House, the NYJO will visit The Venue@DMU on Friday 25 February 2022 for a performance at 8pm.

DMU Music are giving away 10 free tickets to the DMU show, first come first serve, to students and staff who email music@dmu.ac.uk with the subject header ‘Amy Winehouse NYJO’.

Open to all DMU staff, students and members of the public, this event will celebrate the pop icon’s unmistakable character, vocal dexterity and masterful song writing.
