Leicester Caribbean Carnival 2022

Leicester's annual Caribbean Carnival – the largest multicultural event in the East Midlands – will be taking place on Saturday 6 August, at Victoria Park, from midday.

'Our Culture, Our Roots' is this year's theme, offering an exciting opportunity for Leicester's inhabitants and communities to celebrate the diversity and inclusion that characterises the city.

Carnival Day will kick off in style with the Official Opening Ceremony at the entrance to De Montfort Hall on Granville Road at midday, where the reigning carnival queen will cut the ribbon to signal the start of the parade, which includes 22 vibrant floats.

A richly varied line-up is set to follow, including musical performances on the Main Stage from K Soul, Nia Songbird and Tann-I Browne. There will also be dance performances, DJs and much more, before wrapping up at 8pm.

There will also be a Carnival village, which includes the popular Soca village, food stalls and a funfair for children. Boxing fans also have the opportunity to get an autograph from boxing legend, Frank Bruno, who will be in attendance on Carnival Day.
