Get involved with DMU Rowing's Virtual Head Race

Following last year’s successful ‘Lockdown Regatta’, DMU Rowing are again working with the Bath Spa University Rowing Club and RaceLeader to host a bigger and better event for Friday 2 and Saturday 3 April 2021. This could be a great way to train for the return of actual water rowing, now only a few weeks away.

The event will take the form of a Head Race, with both a short course (2.5km run) and a long course (5km run). Everyone from juniors to masters can take part, and there is the option of singing up in crews from singles to eights. Times will be recorded via Strava , and average times will be taken automatically using RaceLeader. Ranks will then be provided, with winners being announced at the end of each day.

This event aims to raise money for mental health charity Mind, and hopes to improve upon last years grand total of £2500. Money will be raised from seat entries, event t-shirts (in partnership with Square Blades) and event medals (in partnership with Row the Distance).

As this is a running race, we aren’t limited to rowers, so get everyone from your friends, partner, children, parents, neighbours and even your dog involved!

A suggested donation of £5 per runner can be made to Mind here.
