DMU's 2019 Vice-Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award winners

Students never forget inspirational teachers. The Vice-Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award (VCDTA) is a scheme that has been running since 2005 and asks students to nominate lecturers who have made a difference to them. The VCDTAs provide us with the perfect opportunity to celebrate the quality and distinctiveness of our staff.

Nominations are evaluated at faculty level and then by a university panel. Since 2012, students have been at the heart of the decision. They nominate their lecturers, and four students are invited to sit on the panel, alongside the DSU Student Voice Manager, DSU Deputy President Education and five senior members of our academic staff. The panel is chaired by the Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic.

As usual, the recipients are announced ahead of DMU's annual Outstanding Service Contribution and Achievement Recognition Awards (OSCARs) ceremony and honoured during the event, which takes place this year on Thursday 24 October.

The winners of the 2019 Vice-Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Awards are:
