#DMUpride 2019 begins on Monday 4 February

This year’s #DMUpride month officially launches on Monday 4 February at the Campus Centre between 12-2pm. Now in its fifth year, #DMUpride is the time of year when we mark LGBTQ history month and honour the lives and struggles of the LGBTQ community in their fight for equal rights.

What’s on this year?

Highlights for the month include:

  • Theatre performances
  • Talks about challenges for the LGBT community
  • #TakeAStand campaign in conjunction with DMUsport
  • A panel discussion about Chemsex among gay men
  • Pride Café for staff and students

We’re also delighted to feature leading voices who have campaigned for LGBT rights. These include transgender model and activist Munroe Bergdorf and non-binary dancer Shiva Raichandani.

#DMUpride continues to be an important part of what we do at DMU and we hope you will be able to join in this year’s celebrations.
