Let's Ride event – road closure information

The annual HSBC UK Let's Ride family cycling event on traffic-free roads will take place this year in Leicester on Sunday 25 August.

DMU is one of the supporters of Let's Ride and, as the event involves the DMU campus for part of the route, a number of roads around the university will be closed on the day between 6 am and 7pm, and movement around the campus will be restricted.

The Venue car park will also be closed during this time; however, the Main Car Park will be open.

Open to the public from 11am to 4pm, the Let's Ride is an opportunity for thousands of people of all ages to take to two wheels and explore Leicester's city centre streets in a traffic-free environment.  The starting point for the ride will be the Gantry on Mill Lane.

The 6km route takes in local landmarks including the King Power Stadium, Leicester Castle, Leicester Cathedral, Market Square and Jubilee Square. There will be fun activities for the whole family to enjoy – with music, local street food and live stunt shows.

You can find out more – and register for a free Let's Ride cycling bib to pick up on the day – by going to the Let's Ride website.
