DMU's support for anyone experiencing sexual violence or harassment

At DMU, the health and wellbeing of our students is of paramount importance so we take any allegations of sexual violence or harassment extremely seriously. If you have any concerns, please contact the university’s security team/campus police officer on (0116) 257 7643 or contact the police on 101. If you feel at risk of immediate harm or need urgent support in relation to sexual violence please call the emergency services now on 999.

The Mandala Project is also available with a range of support options for any students experiencing sexual or domestic violence. The Mandala Project has a team of trained responders who are here to listen to you and signpost you towards practical support. You can contact them on (0116) 207 8309 during office hours, or by email at

They can support you if you have experienced:

  • Sexual violence, including rape and sexual assault
  • Domestic violence including so called ‘honour crime’, forced marriage and coercive control
  • Sexual harassment including stalking, unwanted contact, abusive language and behaviours on campus which create an intimidating environment
