Employer visit, Rolls Royce
"It was really interesting to learn about her first-hand experiences and her advice will help me with my own application. This was a chance to see real world applications of what I am learning about on my course. It was a fantastic day and I would encourage every DMU student to take advantage of opportunities to visit and network with employers."
"I’ve gained inspiration from the trip to apply for a placement to gain more knowledge in my field."
Placement Year at Opus Metrology
Suria Prakkash, MSc Energy & Sustainable Development
"I managed to develop my critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills by doing critical special lapping jobs in the company. Furthermore, learning from 30 to 50 years of experienced people develops these skills. These skills will be useful in doing critical thinking and writing in assignments or thesis papers in our master's degree. I definitely, recommend it to others."
Placement at Jaguar Land Rover
Nontawat Pattanajak, MSc Intelligent Systems
"My technical and communication skills have been developed very fast since the first month from working with team. In terms of technical skill, I know how to build AI models with effective tools. I feel more confident when talking to colleagues resulting in the improvement of my communication skill."
Placement at Warehouse Control Solutions Ltd
Sravani Jakkula, MSc Computing
“It was a wonderful experience to be part of this placement and as I kept updating my LinkedIn profile, I would get job offers from LinkedIn.
After my placement I started looking for a summer internship and I secured an internship at Deloitte. I think this shows how the placement has routed my career to the best possible options for me.”
