#IchoseDMU: Fees and funding
One of the first questions you're likely to ask about university is how much will it all cost? Going to university represents a real investment in your future and there is plenty of financial support available to students for both tuition fees and living expenses.
Undergraduate tuition fees
For 2019/20 undergraduate full-time home students tuition fees will be £9,250. A tuition fee loan, up to £9,250 a year, will be available to students to cover tuition fee costs.
For 2019/20 undergraduate part-time home students tuition fees will be £3,950 for programmes studied over six years and £5,925 for programmes studied over four years. A tuition fee loan, will be available to students to cover tuition fee costs.
For courses run in collaboration with partner colleges, fees should be viewed via the college's websites.
DMU scholarships and bursaries
Each year, DMU offers a range of scholarships and bursaries. In 2019, for undergraduate full-time UK students, these include:
£1,000 cash per year. The Access to Higher Education Scholarship is available if you are accepted onto a course with an Access to HE qualification (where it is an entry requirement for the course).
Care Leavers Bursary
£1,000 cash per year. This bursary is available to eligible students who come to university directly from care.
Estranged Students Bursary
£1,000 cash per year. This bursary is available to eligible students who are identified as estranged from their family by Student Finance England (SFE).
The UK Government is reforming NHS bursaries. Students studying nursing, midwifery and allied health subjects now have access to the same loans system as other students.
Earning while you study
We recognise that many of our students want to work part-time while they are studying. Some of our courses include paid placements while others allow time in their weekly schedule for part-time work on or off campus.
