Nominations open for the 2023 Leicestershire Innovation Awards


Nominations have opened for the 2023 LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards, celebrating and championing the best new ideas and products in the city and county.

De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is a headline sponsor for the awards, which are now in their fifth year. There are 10 categories in this year’s competition, and applications can be submitted from now until January 8.

  • Innovator of the Year (not open for nominations, chosen from the category winners)
  • Outstanding Contribution Award (not open for nominations, chosen by the judging panel

 The 2023 ceremony takes place at the National Space Centre, in Leicester, on February 16, part of the fifth annual Leicestershire Innovation Festival.  

DMU, Morningside Pharmaceuticals and the University of Leicester are the 2023 headline sponsors. Category sponsors are Acute Business Advisory, Intelligent Energy, Loughborough University and the MIRA Technology Institute.

Reach PLC events manager Paige Jackson, who is organising the awards, urged businesses to enter as soon as possible.

She said: “The awards will celebrate the very best technology, services, digital advances, and creative thinking that the region has to offer and will bring to a close the Innovation Festival 2023.

“Previous winners have used the awards to raise their profile, attract new employees, and have gone on to develop national and international success.”
