Gregory James
Reader in Banking and Finance

Gregory has a wide range of financial experience, from the financing of long-term, big-scale infrastructure projects right through to intelligent, resourceful financing of SME projects. He has economic skills and insight at both the global and local level.

Before joining the Leicester Castle Business School, Gregory was Senior Lecturer in the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University.

He earned his PhD from the University of Leicester and started his academic career as an ESRC Post-Doctoral Fellow as Principal Investigator on the project 'Finance and Development in Southeast Asia: Sources and Effectiveness'.

In 2012, he worked on the two-year project 'Law, Development and Finance in Rising Powers' as a Co-investigator alongside other researchers from Cambridge, Oxford, Durham and Leicester. 

Gregory currently serves as an associate editor of the Malaysian Journal of Economic Studies and is also an editorial board member for the International Journal of Commerce and Finance.
