Leicester Business Festival 2018
Leicester Castle Business School is proud to be the Headline Partner of the Leicester Business Festival.
Monday 29 October - Friday 9 November 2018
The Leicester Business Festival (LBF) offers an extensive and wide-ranging programme of more than 120+ impressive events each year over a two-week period, and is currently the region’s largest business event.
Founded in 2014 by the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP), the core objective of the LBF is to place the region’s activities on a national and international platform in order to attract inward investment that will facilitate economic growth.
With a market reach of around 12.7m, LBF 2017 hosted 150+ events with c.12,500 visitors.
The benefits of our partnership and shared vision are outlined by Professor Dana Brown, Principal of Leicester Castle Business School:
“The Business Festival has real traction and now clearly has an international presence. It is truly helping to place Leicester firmly on the global map and showcasing the strengths, innovation and diversity of our great city and county and it is creating a real momentum in inward interest, with an array of enquiries from those wanting to hear more about this great area.
The Festival’s approach and ethos is something which aligns perfectly with the strategic and ambitions aims of Leicester Castle Business School - to promote our city and region to ultimately encourage its economic development for the prosperity of all.
As the first 'modern' University in the United Kingdom to have a 'ranked' business school, we appreciate the importance of the Business Festival’s positive impact, its potential and we recognise the investment it can bring to the area. So, it’s very important that we continue to be at the heart of and continue to support the biggest business initiative in the region.”

De Montfort University’s Leicester Castle Business School is the 2018 Business Festival Headline Partner, having signed up in 2017 for a three-year term. East Midlands Chamber; the LLEP Business Gateway and East Midlands Airport are also continuing to support the Festival for a further two years.
Set in the stunning Great Hall of Leicester Castle, Leicester Castle Business School (LCBS) has undergone a £4.2m transformation to meet the needs of 21st century business.
Under the leadership of Professor Dana Brown, the school goes beyond business as usual, offering a unique learning environment where students are encouraged to challenge convention and are given the opportunities and tools to think, create and inspire.
Educational programmes are predicated on an understanding that to be successful in business today, it is essential to have deep knowledge of the business context and how it is changing and evolving in relation to political events and social changes in our time.
In highly competitive and changing global businesses, all employees need to embrace continual learning and to know how to use information wisely, to reach decisions, communicate, negotiate and work in team-based environments. Success in business in the 21st century requires creativity, cultural sensitivity and empathy, all of which we foster through unique educational experiences for undergraduates through to senior executives.
