In 2015, De Montfort University (DMU) were pleased to celebrate 40 years of innovation, partnerships, and knowledge exchange coming together to support business growth for SME’s.
The focus of KTP@40 was to celebrate the innovative and successful Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded programme by Innovate UK.
In 2013/14, more than £85 million was invested in new KTPs from both grant support and company contributions. The benefits of this investment were projected to be a £211 million increase in annual profits for the businesses involved, 450 new jobs, and 6,000 company staff trained (KTP Achievements and Outcomes Final Report 2014).
DMU has a strong track record in delivering KTP’s with our first ever KTP in 1978, and since then, we have successfully completed over 110 projects ranging from our partnership with Salter Industrial Measurements Ltd in 1981, to our 100th awarded KTP in 2012 with Curvy Kate, a lingerie design company.
To celebrate, we hosted a business networking event where delegates were provided with a real opportunity to gain some insight into how DMU can support businesses.
Showcasing some of our most recent KTP projects, our Knowledge Exchange Team discussed potential collaborations for either the KTP programme or other government funded initiates that are on offer.
