Holographic Data Visualization
Overview
The Imaging and Displays Research Group (IDRG) can provide services with Holographic Visualization of Energy Data, combining the most up to date three-dimensional imaging techniques with Computational Fluid Dynamics or other complex engineering data to produce digital holographic models for scientific, research and commercial display purposes.
IDRG has recently demonstrated first examples of Holographic Data Visualizations at the British Council GREAT Festival of Creativity in Istanbul, 2014. These examples have been well received. An example, can be seen in the video below showing a Holographic Data Visualization Model of the Annual Solar Irradiation, calculated for the Queen's Building on De Montfort University's Leicester Campus.
Key features
The services that IDRG can provide in this area of expertise has the following features:
- Holographic Data Visualization
- Three-Dimensional Imaging
- Computational Fluid Dynamics calculation and modelling
- Solar Irradiation Modelling
- Unique holograms to visualize your model and data, combined with multiple layers of information if required.
Benefits
Recent technical developments and our unique research combining digital holography with computer generated models offer the scope of unique and attention grabbing three-dimensional visualization of energy data.
Holograms are portable, compared to traditional solid models, and can convey layers of data within one representation.
This area of expertise can provide benefits in the following areas:
- Architecture
- Planning
- Energy
- Construction/Engineering
- Automotive Industry
- Shipping
