The Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD) has worked extensively with social housing providers on community energy, energy efficiency and retrofit projects.
This has included projects such as the ‘Eco house’ refurbishment in Market Harborough with Sustainable Harborough, and two ‘Retrofit for the Future’ deep retrofits (supported by the Technology Strategy Board) with East Midlands Housing Group and Newcastle City Council. We are working with East Midlands Housing Group on a large scale energy monitoring project to understand better how people can save energy without sacrificing comfort.
