Footwear Bespoke Courses
Overview
This masterclass is available for businesses looking to develop their team, and will enable delegates to understand all the stages of pattern cutting, from cutting through to analysing and labelling pattern parts.
De Montfort University's department of Fashion and Textiles has over 40 years experience in the international footwear design industry. They have worldwide links with the footwear industry, and excellent specialist studio facilities.
Recent graduates from the full Degree in Footwear Design (BA) are working as designers, buyers or agents for companies such as Gucci, Red or Dead, Gina, Morgan, Lacoste, and Paul Smith, both in the UK and overseas.
Structure and content
This masterclass includes:
- How we walk
- Analysing feet
- Foot measurement
- Producing a bespoke last, made to measure
- Creating bespoke patterns
- Bespoke shoe making practises and techniques
- Hand finishing
Course objectives
This one day footwear pattern cutting masterclass will provide delegates with a solid base knowledge of the processes of bespoke footwear.
