Don't forget to Gift Aid it

Our charitable status means that we can claim Gift Aid and make your donation go further. If you are a UK taxpayer, don't forget to tick the 'Gift Aid' box or fill in a Gift Aid form to enable us to receive £1.25 for every £1 you donate.

Find out more about our charitable status and Exempt Charity Number.

By post

If you would like to send your Direct Debit form in the post, or perhaps make your donation by a cheque, please use the following address:

If you would like to donate by card, please use the online donation facility, or alternatively call the Advancement Office on 01162 078298 where a member of the team will be delighted to speak to you.

Leaving a gift in your will

You can help future generations by remembering De Montfort University in your will.

By leaving a gift in your will to DMU, however large or small, you will be helping to ensure that this great institution can continue to play an integral role in society.

There are a number of different types of legacy so we recommend that you seek professional legal advice when deciding how you would like to leave your mark.

Leaving your legacy to De Montfort University is a very personal and generous thing to do and should you choose to support DMU in your will, this will be your chance to leave a gift that will be appreciated by generations of future students – the gift of education.

If you would like to discuss the option of remembering De Montfort University in your Will please visit our 'Remembering DMU in your will' webpage or complete and return a Declaration of Intent form to let us know of your wishes and help us to thank you appropriately.

How to include a gift in your Will

We have produced some guidance and suggested wording (PDF) for your Will or Codicil to help you leave a legacy gift. This will help to ensure that your gift is tax efficient, as the University has Exempt Charity status.

Whenever you write or update your Will, we strongly recommend that you seek professional advice from a solicitor.

Adding a gift to an existing Will

If you have already made a Will, you can add a legacy to the University by simply adding a Codicil form (PDF) to an existing Will.
